I have had a web presence since 1997.  The first website I owned was http://www.howtofoldsoup.com, a personal site that went wholly under-utilized for most of that time (25 articles in 8 years?).  Regardless, I registered and owned that domain based on my online identity, which was taken from the title of a short story by Steve Martin.

Due to some trouble getting help modifying my Domain contact information with my previous registrar, www.networksolutions.com, I decided let my registration with them lapse, intending to purchase it back with a different provider (www.godaddy.com).

The final day to renew and several "WARNING, YOUR DOMAIN IS EXPIRING" e-mails and letters from networksolutions, I got geared up to re-register, using a special service from godaddy that will automatically grab a domain when it becomes available.  Well, a week later, and the domain was still not on the market.  My turn to write letters.

I wrote to the support people at NetworkSolutions to find out what the problem was with releasing the domain.

"We hold the domain for 30 days after a failure to renew in case it was lapsed unintentionally, and the owner still wants to renew it."

"Well, I'm the owner, and I am going to renew it, just not with you.  Let it go already."

No response.  So I let the 30 Days go by, and I'm checking it regularly from work and home, since all my e-mails are being dumped into oblivion.

Day 31, site was re-registered by a domain kiter.  Now, prior to this day, I had no idea what domain kiting was.  In fact, I didn't understand why someone would have been WAITING to register my domain, which get's very little hits, and isn't that great of a domain.  Then I found that article above.  My site changed hands on April 10th.

When I had eventually sleuthed together what happened, and found out that I was powerless to do anything about it, I experienced a rage I'm finding hard to describe.  This was my baby.  It was memorable due to it's absurdity, and my friends (both of them), knew I could be reached through it.  NO ONE ELSE ON THE FUCKING PLANET  WOULD EVER WANT IT.  I AM THE ONLY ONE IT HAS ANY VALUE TO AT ALL!!!  I took it very personally.

I began yelling at my computer.  Poor computer.  It was simply the messenger.  We've since made up.
And my cats.  They didn't take the explosive shouting very well, both hiding under my bed till I coaxed them out a little while later.

Since I have had a chance to cool down and think more rationally, I have made it my personal mission in life to hurt Landhius Joonchi (if that's even a real person) like he's hurt me.  The registrar information below is all the information I have on him.

So Landhius, whereever you are, I make this statement of my personal vendetta against you.  The fact that howtofoldsoup.com is just a row in about 100,000 that you might manage, and that you aren't even aware of it's existance makes no difference to me.  In fact, it amplifys my rage.

My angst aside, I've now been forced to use the less-that-equal how2foldsoup.com.  Weak sauce.  I refuse to change my header, and now I've got to get out of the habit of typing it (apologies donkeyjune).
